Sand Wraith Guide / Sand Wraith Strategies

Sand Wraith is currently one of my favorite characters to play in Heroes of Newerth. I like the character's graphics and the idea of the character design, I find it very appealing. I target this guide for noobies, who are not sure how to play Sand Wraith, believe me I had a few deaths early on while trying to learn the skills and how each would work. I soon found out that Sand Wraith although a carry is not very good in teams fights depending on your opponents. The only skill Sand Wraith really has is his first skill the desert's curse which slows your opponents and you run much faster and is not hindered by trees or cliffs. This is a very nice skill and should be use when trying to catch an enemy running back to his base.

So what are the order of the skills that you should use? the order of skills is not mandatory, you can order it as anyway you want but this is how I do it for the main reason of survibability early on and getting a kill when a get to level 6.

Skill Order:

1.) Dissipation
2.) Desert's Curse
3.) Dissipation
4.) Desert's Curse
5.) Dissipation
6.) Mirage
7.) Dissipation
8.) Desert's Curse
9.) Mirage
10.) Desert's Curse
11.) Deserted
12.) Mirage
13.) Deserted
14.) Mirage
15.) Deserted

Explanation of Skill Order

Early game there are really a few things Sand Wraith can do, If you are unlucky you will be harass by a range opponent. Go with Dissipation first for defense and survivability, level up fast. Sand Wraith can level fast or jungle once level 10 and above. Try to level up fast and get the last hit on creeps as much as possible. collect a lot of money and buy nice items later. Second skill is Desert's Curse good of helping team in ganking as this skill can slow opponents take this skill after you get Dissipation. 3rd important skill to take is Mirage, this will be the enemies execution take it, all enemies with low health are considered doom once you got this. Then go on leveling Deserted as your last option skill to take.

Strategies

This is how you get most of the kill, Once you reach level 6, make it a habit to always check the mini map and your other teammates, chances are they got their opponent bleeding to death or near to death but just couldn't chase them down. Once you see your chances click on your last skill and then manifest near the running opponent, Manifest is a skill under Mirage which lets Sand Wraith takes the place of a Mirage. Once you are behind the enemy quickly use your first skill Desert's Curse to slow him down then pawned the enemy and quickly run to base because other opponents might be running towards you and you do not want that. You can equip SandWraith with a NullFire Blade, very nice for slowing enemies, debuff is minus 80 percent  movement speed, its a sure death for your opponent.

Items

There is really no fixed items for SandWraith but to make out of most of his skills, I go for:

Enhanced Marchers

Good for running down enemies, helps with first skill a lot Desert's Curse. You just cannot get a kill without this. I suggest this is a must!

NullFire Blade (Optional)

If you really want a sure kill get this, your enemy will not be able to run away trust me!

Hack and Slash

The name suggest it, adding movement slow to your opponents plus strength and agility to Sand Wraith might as well take it.

FrostWolf's Skull

Adding minus movement and attack speed to your opponents, if you have the money I suggest buy it. This makes Sand Wraith much more cooler.

Wingbow

Ultimate weapon for Agility Heroes, Evasion is a neat thing to have.

Behemoth's Heart

More Damage is a good thing! plus health for you!

Legends of long ago said that when the sirocco howls off the Great Waste, it is screaming of a Sand Wraith. In the past years, the legend has been borne out, as this ancient evil has glided through Newerth, leaving curses, confusion, and despair in his duty wake.

With the new patch comes two new heroes added into the game. Engineer and Forsaken Archer. I Find Engineer more enjoyable than Forsaken archer due to the fact that Engineers Ultimate skill is very sick if used at the right time. Another thing is the second skill which is a steam turret, using this skill early is a great way to kill as many creeps as you can early in the game and earn a lot of money early on.  What I did not really like is Forsaken Archer, although the character looks great graphically the second skill sucks which sometimes even if toggled on is not shooting 3 arrows. The Ultimate Skill is not that good considering it is a channeling spell and only throws arrows in a straight direction that can be easily dodge by your opponents. Forsaken Archer works well with other heroes such as Electrician, Tempest, Pollyworg Priest specificallly heroes who can Immobalized an Opponent.

Accessories Items used in the beginning and middle part of the game. Passive bonuses are mostly additional stats only. These items are necessary to boost survivability in the first few minutes of the game. You would never want to be the victim of a first blood. Also accessories item can be combine with other item to create a better item. Look at the recipe for the advance items for more details on this. Practicing on using Accessories items in the beginning part of the game can make you pawn your enemy in the middle part of the game as this items are part of a recipe that you can complete to create a better item.
